Rooted in the Land

At Veral Zero, every bottle begins with the land—wild, ancient, and alive. Our vineyards sit just steps away from the Río Umia, a river that winds through the heart of Galicia like a silver thread, shaping the soil, the air, and the rhythm of life.

This is a place of small plots, tucked between forest groves, mossy stones, and morning mists that roll in from the nearby Atlantic Ocean.

The Atlantic Influence

Cool breezes. Salty air. Shifting skies.

Our plots are exposed to the changing moods of the ocean. Here, the climate is humid but temperate, with sudden rainfalls and long, golden evenings. The result? Grapes that ripen slowly, retaining their natural acidity, aromatic intensity, and a hint of coastal salinity that defines the character of our wines—even after dealcoholization.

The Atlantic is not just a backdrop—it’s an ingredient. Its presence is felt in every drop.

The Río Umia’s Microclimate

A gentle river with a powerful voice.

The Río Umia brings balance. Flowing through granite-rich terrain, it creates a unique microclimate that buffers extreme heat, extends the growing season, and nourishes the land with moisture and minerals.

Our vines grow along its edges, where fog drapes the mornings, cool air circulates naturally, and flora thrives in unexpected corners. Wild fennel, chestnut trees, ferns, and orchids coexist with our vines, enhancing biodiversity and protecting the natural equilibrium.
